Benefits of sodium coconut sulphate

What are sulfates?

Sulfates are surfactants that create foam and cleanse skin and hair.

Sulphates can cause skin irritation for people with sensitive skin, which is why we at Treefling have chosen to use sodium coconut sulphate in our hand soap because it is more gentle on sensitive skin compared to other sulphates, for example sodium lauryl sulphate. Sodium coconut sulfate has a larger molecular mass than sodium lauryl sulfate, which makes it more difficult for it to penetrate the skin and affect living cells that cause skin irritation.

Another advantage of sodium coconut sulfate is that it is derived from vegetable oil, while sodium lauryl sulfate is often petroleum-based, making it a more environmentally-friendly choice.
